Around about 1992, a friend gave me home-baked dog treats for my Yorkie. Easton thought the results were acceptable, but when I tasted them, I thought I could do better. I did some research into what's good for dogs, experimented a bit, and came up with some baked treats that I liked as much as Easton did. Other friends' dogs liked them, too, so I gave them as gifts and started selling Stephanie's Gourmet Dog Biscuits at flea markets and fairs.
The business grew over the next few years, and the internet presented some excellent opportunities around that time. We developed healthy, great-tasting treat recipes in our home kitchen and sold good treats for good dogs through the website. We were soon selling treats around the country and spending all our spare time making and shipping dog treats. The business was renamed Giggybites (after our Chihuahua, Gigabyte).
Giggybites Bakery and Marketplace for dogs opened in Chadds Ford in 2007. Since then, we've built a fun and thoughtful community of folks who want to feed their dogs the best stuff available.
The mission of Giggybites is to enhance the lives of our customers and their dogs by providing advice, resources and a community of like-minded dog owners.
We do this by knowing our products and staying informed about what’s best for dogs at every stage of their life. We want our people and their pets to enjoy long, healthy lives together.
We love our local customers from Chadds Ford and nearby areas including Concordville, West Chester, Aston, Kennett Square, Media, Wilmington, Hockessin, Glen Mills, Garnet Valley, and more!
